70 short wide rotten pumpkin....

Just went and got this 70 short bed. It is a decent little driver, small block with a three on the floor conversion. It even has both bumpers AND a tailgate... Notice, no radio cutout. Been terrorizing the neighborhood with it this morning.

Looks like a neat rig. What does the future hold for it? Or is it to soon to tell?

Re: 70 short wide rotten pumpkin....

I always plan to keep them,,, then things beyond my control start to happen. The phone rings, people email, they come by the shop and usually, the truck is gone and I am stuck counting money. Dammit....

Re: 70 short wide rotten pumpkin....

You caught that too? I like the way the later model fan shroud is laid over the original six cylinder shroud.

Going to clean out the shop Monday or Tuesday night and get some things cleaned up under the hood, especially those mystery vacuum hoses.

Re: 70 short wide rotten pumpkin....

Have I ever mentioned how much I DETEST red heater hoses. That is my quirk I guess. This thing even had some red hose (air hose) for the fuel line. It is a mess under the hood, but I have confidence in my abilities.

Re: 70 short wide rotten pumpkin....

I did not get quite as much done as I had planned, do we ever, The red hoses are gone and it is at least inside the shop thawing out. MAYBE I can spend a few evenings under the hood this week.

What the hell, can I get a Moderator to move this thread to Projects & Builds? Maybe everyone can keep me on track if I do it that way. Thanks, Fred.

Re: 70 short wide rotten pumpkin....

Hang in there cleaning up the " sins of the past ". I agree with you and am a member of the red hose hater club. Looks like a FUN truck to terrorize the hood in. If you get a chance dump the clutch at least once on my behalf!!! Sometimes a truck that is not "perfect" is the most fun and enjoyable ride around!
Have a blast with your truck! All the best, Dirk
