Adding reverse lights

My 63 did not come with reverse lights. I would like to add them. Where does the reverse switch get mounted?

Re: Adding reverse lights

On a four speed it's mounted on the floor and a tab screwed to the shifter pushes a switch when put in reverse. On a three speed its mounted up under the dash in some manor, don't really know how. An automatic is probably under the dash as well.

Look in the link below marked 1963 literature. Scroll down to album marked accessory installation. You'll find the original instructions and wiring schematic.

3 spd manual switch should be mounted to the top of the column with 2 small screws. 3Spd Auto is also on top of the column-same type of mounting I believe

I added aftermarket back p lights to my 65 Suburban, and mounted a toggle type switch under the dash. I have a TH350 trans but the wiring isn't hooked up. With the switch, I can turn on the lights separately to light up behind my truck.

Re: Adding reverse lights

Exactly what I have on my mind now. I will be installing my new weber 2bbl with electric choke. I want to mount the toggle where the choke cable comes through the dash. I bought a set of lights from Pep Girls to mount under my bumper. I would still like to do a custom mount IN the bumper.
