Option 99918A Mirror Deletion?

Here's a nicely optioned big block Cheyenne with a mirror delete. Would that be the passenger mirror that is missing?

Re: Option 99918A Mirror Deletion?

Probably both. Being a fleet code the customer probably intended to have aftermarket or accessory west coast jr mirrors vs the factory offerings.

It's an odd choice to leave the cool sport mirrors off of your new big block cheyenne with tilt and tach. If you wanted a tow pig why the fancy trim? In any case it's an example of how one could pick and choose options back in the day.

Re: Option 99918A Mirror Deletion?

In 71-72 if you didn't specify a real mirror option when you ordered a truck you got the "standard" sport mirror by default. My guess is somebody figured out a clever way to order a truck without mirrors at all by adding the fleet code. The owner probably planned to put something on that they could actually see behind them with and not deal with extra door holes and and just never did. The standard mirrors look cool but I'm sure many people back in the day didn't think they were useful on a truck.
Pretty interesting label, thanks for sharing.

That was my exact thought. The original owner probably owned a 69 with sport mirrors and realized how useless they are as mirrors. They do look nice though

Window tint with no A/C?
Neat truck either way, it would be a cool resto back to Ocre/White
