designed drop trailing arms

So I don't have a truck anymore : ( but I still love these trucks. ive designed these trailing arms to drop a truck two inches with out using blocks.

they will be made out of 1/4 steel and have ballistic poly bushings for the front.
I've also designed a new front bracket for the trailing arms to mount to.
I also added a few degrees to help correct the pinion angle

just finished drawing today, let me know what you think.

That's pretty cool. I really like the rear trailing arm design. Great job! What are you cutting with? CNC Plasma table? I noticed the lead in in the holes. I use a .050" radius lead in on holes on our water jet. Are you willing to share your designs?

The bracket was cut out on a plasma table and its brand new. I was his first customer so he is still fine tuning it. I think im going to have the trailing arms cut out on the laser. as far sharing the plans im going to keep them to myself due to I might try and produce these to sell if they works out.

Suggestion on your front bracket. Ad more material around the bolt hole or ad a doubler. You may see some elongation in the hole over time with that little of material. Set it up with an undersized hole so after bending it can be reamed to size to allow a tight straight bolt fit.

there is actually more material around that hole then a stock bracket. but it is one of the changes I'm thinking about

Hope this isn't rude to ask, just thinking it'd be neat to see what it looked like, and I have no clue how or where the brackets bolt on. Soooo can you draw up pics of the trailing arms and brackets installed?

at this time they are just a drawing on my computer and im trying to build something cool : ) and if they do turn out how Im hoping then at that time will look into trying to reproduce them to sell.

I personally don't have a truck to try them out on but I do have lots of friends with trucks.

so I finally ordered the first set to get cut out on the laser today! I Should see my parts on the 20th.
Ive made a few changes to the first design. pretty excited to get started on these. hoping they turn out as cool as I pictured.

That sounds great. Glad you are finally getting the project off the ground. Keep us posted....

I have thought about building a pair of them for my future '67 1 ton Dually project, as I plan on putting coils under it.

I got the front mounts drilled and tapped today. The Ballistic joints should be here tomorrow. On Saturday I have to fly to Hawaii for work but I should be back home on Monday night. The plan Is to start welding these trailing arms up next week.
