the white box is a early style trailer brake (mechanical), may have been a dealer installed item, will be removing it as soon as the brakes are open to put disc parts on.

cost aside anyone used Dynamat that was unhappy with the results? How about Dynamat Extreme? If a person needed to remove Dynamat to make a change or repair will it come off? Any chance of rust growing under it?

floor update
Well I covered up the green floor, it needed a little attention at the edge where the carpet meets the kick panel on both sides, the kick panel was worse than the floor, I guess from wet shoes and sand. If those areas need attention in the future they will be real easy to get to, the rest of the floor was really cherry. Here are the middle photos, the dynamat first (full coverage), and then a little of the rv type insulation in the flat spots, laid the carpet in it seems stiff will have to heat up garage before fitting.

stelth, near Boise, I am more concerned about keeping sound out than in, bb tends to rumble some at slow speeds, and road noise was loud.

I would be very interested in your opinion of the differance the dynamat makes when you start driving it. Will probably be doing it to my suburban in the next 2 to 3 months. By the way, the install looks awesome, are you that good, or is it just easy to install!!!

Wow that's clean enough to eat off of.
I'm gonna probably be ripping out my interior soon to save myself some man hours at the body shop, planning to have my 72 LWB GMC painted soon, and since the interior already has been painted once (I think) I'm gonna go ahead and have the interior painted too, and change away from that godawful green. My plans are to use that brown bread "cheaper than dynamat" stuff over every surface of the interior that I can to help with noise/heat. So I'm very curious in what sort of difference you notice in yours. 402BB here so less noise inside is good. |

For all of you who have enver seen a truck floor from this side of the states, feast your eyes on this Kansas truck's floor. People around here say it is fairly clean just becouse the floors are original and not made from no parking signs.

an update
just wanted to update my progress, got it all done, huge difference in sound level inside, happy with all products used, one small thing aside, when I went to put my carpet kit in I realized they dont go all the way to the kick panel, there is a small gap there 1/4 to 1/2 inch, which you dont notice when your floor is stock because the floor color shows through. And since I was very thorough installing the dynamat it goes flush to the kick panel, so I ended up with black carpet next to a line of bright foil shining through. It bothered me and ended up pulling carpet back and spray painted foil flat black. Just a heads up to do something with the edge, leave it, paint it, carpet welting maybe. Also used longer bolts for the seat. I bought the Dynamat extreme 36 square foot pack, and I did the floor, had two of the sheets left over, once I prep and have some rust fixed inside one part of each door I will use the dynamat on the inside of both doors, in hopes of killing a little more noise and making my speakers sound better. Thanks for the input of all who posted.
