The Farm Truck?

I admit, I have become a fan of Street Outlaws, especially the Farm Truck. Does anyone know what the driveline is like? What makes that BadBoy hook-up so well? I haven't been able to find much about the bottom side. It appears to have a 6 point rollcage with a basically empty bed. I think I spotted a weight box where the spare tire mount was. Thought this might be a conversation starter for a rainy weekend. Who knows what??

Just from what I've seen and remember 632? Cid bb can't remember who built it. 820 rwp on chiefs dyno on motor 1070 rwp on nitrous on dyno.Pretty sure he's running a built 4l80e now, recent show was upgrading to an overdrive trans. Cage is tied into chassis under the shell. Fuel cell in bed. Stock tank removed nitrous bottle is mounted behind seat on drivers side. Suspension appears to be mostly stock the way the truck bounces all over. Its a 70. Bout all I know, makes me miss my 71 lwb big block truck I had back when. Farmageddon! But like Sean says, its just an old farm truck.

I can't say for fact as I have never seen the truck in person, but over on yellow bullet forum they was talking about this truck.
Said it still has the factory truck long arm rear suspension, but mentioned that is has a mustang II front suspension under it.
It looks like he has done alot of work to the chassis now because if you watch this seasons street outlaws (compared to earlier) the truck launches alot better and straighter than it ever has. He would be way up the list if he put that drivetrain in a built car instead of a 5000 pound truck.

I don't have many secrets about my car. its a 25.2 cert (not double frame railed) Texas legal backhalf car with stock front frame rails, front suspension, floor boards, and stock firewall. The car weighs 3425lbs with me and race ready. My engine put down 990hp NA on Chiefs dyno, I think I could def squeeze a grand plus with some fine tuning and good air. It would put around 1450hp (on all 3 kits) before it would blow the tires off. We tried everything to try and get the dyno to hold the tires, it just wouldn't. So we really don't know how much max hp it will put to the ground.

Farmtrucks motor is not a pump gas motor, and he is definately spraying more than a 125 shot... Hes got a hell of a lot better 632 than i do. He got big chief style heads, me and Dominator still have conv. heads...If that motor was in anything besides a 5000 lb truck it would fly!!!!

I can't -stand- that show (everyone's different).

I'm no suspension expert, but I would think the long control arm suspension would be a good way to start. You'd no doubt need to modify the upper mounting to give you some adjustability, but it beats the hell out of leaf springs and slapper bars, that's for sure!

I understand, I dont care for all the Fake scripted stuff. But the cars are real, the racing is real, and they are doing it on a street ( granted the street is closed off on race night) and not on a prepped track.
Still good entertainment....for me anyway, better than DWTS or honey booboo..etc

If you look him up on Facebook he has some details and he often posts new pics of what he is doing with the truck. He recently got a set of custom built trailing arms and put tubular a-arms on the front. Pretty sure he has a mostly stock geometry in the rear. One photo I saw looked like it coil overs under the rear.


As to the motor, he stated once on Facebook that he needed something like 115 octane to run it------so that low compression comment can't be right.

I only watch it for farm truck... And Last time I checked these trucks don't weigh 5000 lbs. I could be wrong but I wouldn't be surprised if you could shave closer to 1000 of that number. High 3000's to Lower 4000 is my guess.

Here is some reading on weight not that it really matters seems they weigh anywhere from 3500 to 5000 so I guess I can correct my self lol. 5000 seems plausible.

I have no doubt they have lightend the truck up some, But SEAN (owner /driver) probably weighs.... lets say 175 pounds. then add in the weight of his dog...40 pounds?
then add in the weight of (AZN) in the passenger seat...another 60-70 pounds? ( LOL..sorry coulden't help myself)
nitrous bottles,topper, rollcage...etc.... its not light.

Love the farm truck, love their style. Saw a show where they bet an import racer if he lost he had to give them his over-sized spoiler, and of course they took his spoiler.

My short bed with a small block/manual trans weighs 3900. I have access to a certified truck scale at work. Add in long bed, big block, automatic, cage, bottles, probably a boxed frame to take the power.....it can add up really quick.

He did a Scott's Hot Rods crossmember and front suspension sometime last year. If you look at older pics when it wheelies it was a stock front end with drums.

I watch the show for the mech's like when murder nova busted a crank with he crank mounted supercharger! The Farmtruck has to have suspension work I'm missing. I do like the the all go no show theme! GO BIG BLOCKS!

for what I remember I know hes running a 9" rear. He broke his diff. gears a while back and they showed what he had in the rear..

Everything he's got is basically stock suspension stuff nuttin different from what anyone can get from summit/Jegs he's not a list guy hes a guy that has fun with racing no need to change vehicles he jus has fun with what he does
