58 Apache

A friend of mine is offering to give me his 58 Apache as he says he has no time. I am told the original 235 is cracked so I am looking at options. I was planning on a restore to original but with a cracked block I now think some other route is the way to go. Any suggestions?

Re: 58 Apache

So original or clipping it? Options for "original" include newer 250 sixes, if you clip it then its not original so lots of V8 options open up along with newer trans and rearend. Lots of current threads on "what is best" concerning clips over the last few months, use the search box above with 67 checked to find them.

Re: 58 Apache

Cant beat free , Another inline would be the simplest. Wont be "original" #'s matching but if you weren't looking to take it to Barret Jacksons , and just looking for a good project /weekend driver to enjoy I would go with another six.

The condition it is in now can help Pics would help, Adding creature comforts ,IFS, air ride , A/C, ..mods go on and on $$$ to.
If parts are going to hard to get shipping cost is also to be considered in your plans.

On a side note, a friend said he has a 383 magnum he is willing to give me with the transmission. Now wouldn't that make for a Frankentruck! Lol
