Where does the jack mount?
I know where the lug wrench mounts (behind the drivers seat). Does someone have pictures of how and where the jack mounts on a 72 K5

Re: Where does the jack mount?
I don't have pictures on the pc but it mounts behind the rear bench seat in between the tire carrier on the drivers side.

Re: Where does the jack mount?
This is the bracket used to mount the jack to the floor. I just purchased one from 1rippen6. I think he had another set too. I swear I just need to send my paycheck to 1rippen6 from now on. He is a one stop shop.

Re: Where does the jack mount?
The spare tire mounts to the carrier like this. The carrier is hard to find, but they do pop up on the parts board from time to time. They usually demand a premium price. I paid a pretty penny for mine.

Re: Where does the jack mount?
They reproduce the tire carrier now. Can't say how good it is though.

Re: Where does the jack mount?
Looked at the current LMC catalog and there is no spare tire carrier listed. Checked on their website as well. Found an old catalog from about a year ago and nothing. Maybe you were looking at a newer model K5 catalog? I wanna say the later models used a similar set up.

Re: Where does the jack mount?
No it was the interior carrier for a 69-72. I can't find it anywhere on the web either but I found people referencing it on this site a couple times so I know I'm not going crazy. Seems odd it's gone now. I will check my LMC catalog at work tommorow, I think it's in there.

Re: Where does the jack mount?
http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/csb/full.aspx?Page=30
Check the bottom right side of page 30 of the '73-'91 catalog. They make a very similar one that will bolt in. The only difference from what i know is the part that bolts the wheel to the carrier is different but will work fine. I had two of these but sold them both. They go for around $100 or so. If you are lucky enough you can find them in certain conversion or cargo vans up to '91 I believe. They are harder to find even then. Only found one once in the junkyard which I grabbed. |

Re: Where does the jack mount?
I guess they had it in the 67-72 catalog thinking it was the same but later removed it. I have tried looking for my copy of the catalog I saw it in and can't find it

Re: Where does the jack mount?
I bought mine from the original owner of a 72 K5. It had been sitting in a garage for 30 years.
