Lower control arm alignment ?

I'm about to start re-assembly and have got to wondering....

How does everyone line up their LCAs before tightening the u-bolts?

How do you know if they are located correctly (not to far forward or back)? I repainted mine, so I have no old markings to go by.

There is a hole in the shaft near the rear bushing. It lines up with a peg in the rear mounting were the shaft goes.

More of an indent than a hole, right?

Its the only hole or indent in the A-arm shaft...

Just to clear up any possible confusion, for anyone that might read this.... The indent is actually on the shaft, at the front of the control arm.

Probably didn't need to be said, but I know sometimes people get confused and I've seen people try to put control arms on backwards on other vehicles

I'm glad you got it figured. I used to work on 30 series trucks & they have the locator at the rear mount.

Not a problem. I just got my new spindles in the mail yesterday, so I will be installing them today (I painted them last night)
