Front brake drum removal
I need to replace the front drums on my 67 C10.
Spindle and drum are bradded together. New drums come without spindle. I assume I need to just drill the brads out and use the same spindle. Anyone know if that is the case? |

Re: Front brake drum removal
Hey thanks.
Trying to get it road worthy again so my son can take it to the prom like I did 27 years ago. Harmonic balancer got loose too. Thought I'd drill and tap the crank shaft, put new key stock in place with JB weld and secure with a bolt and washer. Any thoughts on that.? It's a 250 6 |

If the outside ring on the balancer isn't loose I guess it would work. If the rubber ring between the inside and outside metal parts is bad you will have to replace the whole thing. LockDoc

Re: Front brake drum removal
Rubber is good. It's a new balancer.
Thanks |

Re: Front brake drum removal
If it's new and it is loose it must be the wrong one. It should be a very tight fit. I don't think the JB Weld will do any good. LockDoc

Re: Front brake drum removal
Yeah, balancer is a press fit. If loose it must be the wrong one.
