It is hard to answer your question sense you said where else but you did state your original location or price. I got my rear blocks and coils from CPP but a lot of people have had problems with there customer service.

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

I meant where else but the link to the site I included. ECE has them also for about the same price or more actually. CPP drop springs start @ 3"...or so says their web site. May just go with the 4" springs and forget the 2" blocks.

Oh crap....my bad....here it is:

https://www.performanceonline.com/19...SPRINGS-16832/

I guess the price is ballpark.....but the shipping puts it over the top for me.

Finding 4" drop springs on ebay for $78 shipped....may be the way to go....

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

Just an add on note, if you are still going to run 15" wheels, a 2" block is a little too much. It causes your traiing arm to be just ever so slightly lower than the rim, so if you have a flat, the arm/U-bolt nuts dig into the road. I would go with a 3" spring and 1.5" block.

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

Thanks for the heads up. I noticed CPP doesn't recommend 2" blocks for 15" wheels but they don't say why....your explanation makes sense...thanks. I was considering 1" blocks/3" springs but wondering if the extra expense going 1" with blocks is going to make that much of a difference in ride quality vs just 4" springs.

The axle moves in an arc, the lower you go the more the axle gets pushed forward. The blocks help correct the arm arc. I went to Porterbuilt arms to move my axle back. Before shot.

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

Boy the blocks do make a difference in centering the axle. it doesn't sound like we can much over 1 inch though with 15 inch wheels. I used Jeep TJ ser. rear springs for a 4 inch drop. the spring and suspension shops usually have a few sets left over from upgrades. . half the guys (and gals) that buy jeeps get em lifted and change the springs. I paid 40 or 50 bucks for a set at the Jyard.

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

LVPhoto...Nice setup. Assuming this is a '62, is that the OEM trac bar mount? Wondering how the CPP bar mounts to the frame there. Do you have a close up?

That's the stock '62 bar mounts in picture. Here is the Porterbuilt one moved back.

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

I like how the trac bar is level @ ride height. I may fab up a modified version of the porterbuilt one for my 64 (or modify the stock '64 mount)...depending on how everything lines up when I get it down to where I want....but I'll be using a 24" bar mounted to the stock '65 rear post. Still deciding on springs only or 1" blocks/springs. The pics help....Thanks for the photos.

Re: 2" Rear Drop Springs?r

Thanks for the offer. I already ordered an adj bar from CPP. I may be interested in the panhard bar frame bracket if my stock 64 bracket doesn't work out.
