Anything is possible but its a new body 88+. How bad is the old one? It would probably be better to fix it

Re: Is it possible to put a different year column in my 87?

I put the steering column from a 94 GM in my 82 4x4 all I had to do was cut the mounting bracket off the bottom of the new column the steering shaft was a bit short so I heated up the shaft at the split and the plastic popped out like a U joint then I pulled it out to length. My truck had a manual trans so I don't know about the column shifter linkage .
