What did you get done this weekend?

Well it looks like MHC decided to run this feature for me early this week. Regardless of his impatience, I'll run it again. I was on call this weekend so I didn't get anything done on any of my trucks. About the only thing that counts is a cleaned the interior on my 02 GMC. It was supposed to rain, so I'll wash it in the morning...

Fixed 2 coolant leaks, added cooland & Windshield washer fluid.

Well, been trying to sort out what the HELL is up with my carb and distributor. I think I'll work on it 2moro some more...other than that, just finally got back to normal street racing action this weekend

I shoveled snow, then shoveled some more...and when I get home tonight, I will have another 3-5" to shovel.

I called my painter, the cab is painted and all it needs now is to be buffed. I should have it in a week or two (he, the painter, left for Florida for a week).

I backed mine out of the garage on Saturday, let it get good and warmed up and took it for the annual emissions test so that I could go get my tag. It passed, and now it is resting comfortably back in the garage!

I got the brakes bled, wipers done, parts sorted out, and got the truck ready to come out of hibernation. Maybe I will get a lot done this coming weekend.....

i finally got my new armrest in the 86 lol now if it would get warm enough to do my springs and front end and the start of the body work

I replaced the weatherstrip on the doors, now all stripping is new..no more leaks.

For the rest I did next to nothing on my truck Worked on the dry sump system for my other car and found out I was lacking a bunch of -12AN fittings, either misplaced them or I simply ran out.

The only thing left to do on my truck is the irritating front brake problem. I rebuilt the calipers and they're fine, still waiting for braided hoses. The brake on the pass. side schreeks and pulsates like crazy and it got real bad after I scraped the sway bar on a speed bump. The rotor checks out straight, the wheel bearings are fine, no runout. I think it's those darned guide pins.

I hate it that I have to wait for weeks to get these stinking parts

I worked on some guys Blazer, removed the rest of the carpet and door panels. Drained all the air out of the bags and laid under it for about an hour "just looking" and thinking about where to start "cutting".

I got new wheels and tires and installed them....

on my wife's car.

i got my brake problem fixed, kickdown cable hooked up, changed my oil, and got the truck washed.

i began taking things off of my motor to pull it out of my 74 to get freshened up and then dropped back into the 78.im about 70 percent done-i took the carb,distributor,water pump,flex fan and shroud,headers,exhaust system,alternator,radiator,and a few other things off the motor.about all that is left is the starter,torque convertor needs to be loosened,bellhousing bolts,motor mounts and it should be ready to come out.then after the work i drank beer and watched the super bowl.

I didn't work on my truck this week at all. However, I did order an Optima "Yellow Top" battery, JEG'S billet aluminum battery mount, and Painless remote battery cable mounting kit.

Well on the weekend i did nothing, but today i replaced the thermostat. It looked like the old one was fine but after replacing it I defiatly felt and saw a diffrence. The cab actually got warm and i saw the temp gauge move above 40C for the first time since the summer! I also replaced the PS return hose which i hope will help me with my problem of poor steering after a cold start up.

I was helping my wife recoop after her stay in the hospital. All week was up there and now she's home and much better. Around here at the house is like a hospital ward with me just after my surgery and her recooping from her illness.

Plans this week are to finally get Tootsie Roll back up and going from her slumber while I"ve been reccoping. Oil change, air filter cleaned, etc. to get ready for her daily driving soon.

Busted my engine, but figured out I have my vaccum totally wrong on it in the process. With the way it is setup now, I have zero vaccume going to my distributer advance, lol! No wonder she bogged when I floored it :P I also know what I did to bust the engine, and its a 20 minute swap to fix it (I hope, lol)

Also gotta get myself a new alternator, it was screaming at me earlier on and my voltmeter dropped down to 12 volts telling me its finished. Barely got the truck home before it died infront of it's shop, which made me rather mad, lol

when you floor it you have no vac. advance,that's for part throttle cruising. When everything is set up right and your carb is not way too small the intake pressure should be near athmospheric when you go full throttle > no vac. adv. Do you have the total advance set correctly?

haha, I mean, it had zero vaccum even at an idle :P
