90's model seat install video in a square.

If this is not the correct place for this then would someone please move it. Just thought I would share the video I came across. I am thinking about doing something like this in one of my squares. It looks like it could use some tweaking but kind of gives a run down on how to.

Should be referred to as late 90s as those seats came in trucks from 95+. I personally think they are too big for the truck but install is easy with the bench brackets.

I have been thinking about either the 88-94 seat or the 95-99 style. Just a though at the moment. I like my bench but would like something a little more comfortable. Finding one in burgundy might be a little challenge.

Where I live a guy has been trying to sell a 60/40 bench in burgandy from a 88-94.

I was at the wreckers the other day and they had a mint 60/40 bench in grey. If I didn't have my buckets it would have been gone.

I have a set of 90 suburban buckets to put in my 85 short bed. This would be for my 84 short bed but I have two daughters that ride in this truck so I need the bench or 60/40 for them which is fine. Would be nice to have an arm rest or console that can flip up if needed. If it wasn't for my girls I would probably put a set of buckets in it. My K30 has a new covered bench in it so no problems there.

I got a 60/40 out of a 95-96 truck to put in my 83. The drivers part (60) went in easily. Still have to figure something out to put the bucket in on the passenger side.

Heck of a lot more comfortable than the stock seat, and I like the armrest.

I used that method to put a set in mine. It didn't quite work like his did though.

I bought another set of tracks but they were 81+. The wings he cut off are taller on those than a 73-80 set which was on my stock seat. I made it work but it took some extra figuring out. I think they look pretty good and they are very comfortable for sure.



I used the 73-80 tracks on the outsides. The right side 81+ track on the inside of the driver seat an it was unmodified. On the passenger seat I used the left 81+ track and I had to shorten the rear mount on the track by about 1". I couldn't just cut them off like he did. I then cut up the left side mount that came on the 60 seat to make mounts for both seats inside track an welded them to my floor.

I used the seat sliders that were already on the 60 portion of the seat. Had to drill holes for the inner bracket, and just bent them a little to fit, and mounted using grade 8 bolts.

The outer bracket on the 60 portion I used a piece of flat steel and bolted it to the factory holes in the floor, and then bolted the 60 seat slider to that flat steel. Now I have a power seat on the drivers side.

The passenger side I still need to install. BlueX, you have any pics of the passenger side on yours?
