$500.00 buys alot of $tainless $teel
I'm gonna turn this old C50 into a pickup truck one day if it kills me......
I just installed a new complete exhaust system 2 weeks ago with new ceramic coated smoothie rams head manifolds down to the new 2.5 inch S.S. Magnaflows. I bought the manifolds from eBay for 250.00, and had the boys at Prospect Muffler here in Fort Lauderdale bend up all the pipes to a drawing that I had made a week before with very detailed measurements. They didn't feel comfortable bending up all that S.S. pipe for a truck that they have never even seen before. They like to work on the rack at their shop, put a pipe up, check it, tweek it if need be, then weld it together. I explained to them that this would not be possible because the truck is being kept 100 miles north of their shop at my brother-in-laws house. I told them, just stick to my drawing measurements and every thing would work out just fine. I did all the welding myself and this is how it turned out........ |

The last pic is what I started with when I bought the truck 4 months ago. A no name rusted out single 6" x 24" muffler on 1 7/8" rusty steel Y pipes. Man what a difference a pair of S.S. 7" x 27" round Magnaflows made. This truck can finally breath.

Shoot, that looks great! Nice job on choosing Stainless too, especially in Florida! I've been watching your progress and that truck sure is CLEAN-CLEAN.

How much may I ask were the mufflers? Or are they what you're referring to as manifolds? Do you know their part numbers, or have a link to the auction you bought them with?
I am very interested in this setup, your original setup is identical to mine, and the exact setup I was looking for is the one you now have! Except I really don't care if it rusts, could live without S.S. Thank you very much. p.s. Any chance of getting a sound clip? Getting good sounds recorded is tough, but I'm kinda curious. |

Thank you Swiftshifter, I'm along way from where I need to be, but I'm getting there one rusty bolt at a time. Hey jumpsoffrock, here are the manifolds I bought for $250.00 a pair complete ,and as for the mufflers you need, they are on eBay, NOT S.S. and they are $100.39 each. Just type in Magnaflow #13746 XL Turbo muffler.
