Tailgate fit issue-Help please - dremel hinge opening?

So I bought an aftermarket tailgate and stainless hinge kit and installed them. Tailgate fits into the space ok, but the spring loaded locking mechanism won't go in far enough to lock into the "rectangle" opening in the hinge to stay closed. The hinge is as far to the rear that I can get it, am I doing something wrong? If the "male and female" pieces of the lock catches are as close as I can get them, It seems my only option is to Dremel out the opening so the lock will catch. Anyone had to do this?

Maybe you have them mounted on the wrong side, try switching them. Seems like the tab on the latch receiver should be facing the opposite direction, towards the rear of the bed.
It's 2:30 am so Im not really awake, after a second look I realized it is correct. Disregard my semi conscious suggestion.

Do you have the old parts to compare the aftermarket parts next to? could be the openings in the tail gate are in the wrong place..

I had to machine just over an 1/8" off of mine to close correctly. Do you know someone that can Mill cut these for you? It will be tough to get a straight cut with the Dremel.

Have you tried adjusting the latch on the tailgate itself? Moving the sliding bolt assembly?
