Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

You narrowed it down to a multitude of styles! Are you looking for holes on the spokes, ribbed, slotted? I don't recommend the grant wheel. It has a nice finish, feel, and depth, but the horn design leaves a lot to be desired. Best of luck!

Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

I just bought and returned a Wood three spoke grant. I fixed the horn issue by making plastic flat springs so the horn worked independently of the horn cap. But the wood separated at the joints on the wheel rim and I only had the wheel on for one week. I sent it back on Tuesday.

Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

For my truck, I don't know if a Wood wheel will be a good choice. Just looking for a stock looking wheel that would be 3 spoke.

Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

I went with a 1967 Chevelle Steering Wheel. Its like a deluxe version of the 67-68 pickup wheel with added horn buttons on the two spokes:

The 1967 Impala wheel is similiar:

I have a 3 spoke stock 67-68 wheel if you want it but needs to be painted.

What year is your truck? Did you resurrect an original or by a reproduction? If it's a reproduction, what do you think of it? I'm looking for a wheel right now also and just want something decent that's going to last awhile.

Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

I bought a repro black comfort grip for mine recently on eBay for just under $200 for everything but the horn contact stud.

I sure would like to find a turquoise one for the next truck. I suppose it's suppose it's black underneath and painted anyway?

I went with an original wheel and used a~65-67 Nova horn button with the standard chevy truck horn cup behind it.

Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

Another note on the stock wheel. It's 17" same as the factory truck wheels. It has a hard grip and is a little skinnier than more modern wheels. I added the wrap to protect the grip from cracking, heat on my hands from it roasting in the sun and overall comfort.
I have the 3 spoke GM sport wheel( as seen above posts) on my muscle car. 15" diameter and the factory plastic they used usually gets sticky. The aftermarket ones shouldn't do this?
It comes down to preference

SS Chevelle wheel covered with leather wrap by myself. I install pipe foam under it also.
The one is after I painted it but before I covered it.

It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Thanks, I re did it myself and because I have had corpal tunnel in both hands I like a thick grip steering wheel. The foam and leather serve me well.

Re: 3 spoke steering wheel

I have a original comfort grip in my '71 Longhorn. Looks good in the truck. I also have a original one in my 1970 El Camino. Have one more as a wall decoration along with a original wood rimmed wheel from a '67 Vette. They do get stinky, but if used on a daily basis and kept out of the sun, they don't get that bad.
