Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Well my goal this weekend was to dis-assemble the step side bed and widen it 6 inches. I could have got by with 4 or 4.5 but I went with 6 inches just in case Homer ever gets an altitude adjustment in the future.
The tailgate now reads "Chevivrolet"

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Thanks guys. I was originally going to re-fabricate the pockets the tailgate shuts into. I ev Ernest bought the metal last week 2 do it. The more I looked at it the more I didn't like that option.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Cool !!
Can't wait to see the widened box back on Homer. I too thought about widening my box. I do believe I will be going the widened fender route. But you never know.I am excited to see how yours turns out. Nice to see that the cab and chassis axle fits under the box just as I Had envisioned. Keep up the cool madness I'll be watching

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
"Determination = not willing to throw in the towel". Not always a good thing.
"Vision= sometimes I think it's more like insanity". Oh well. Keeps me out of the bars. Thanks anyways.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Well guys even though I have to take the bed right back off to body work the bed and back of cab I just had to see it in place since I widened the bed 6 inches. You can tell that 4 inches would have done the trick, but I went an extra inch on each side for clearance.

Thanks guys. It is wayyyyy up in the air, but at least I was able to prove to myself that this step side bed wider could look passable.

Re: Meet Homer (the motor home)
Are you going to put some 67-72 rear fenders on it?

That's a great question Wayne...
How 'bout it? Don't leave us floating. .. Are you going to eventually put the period correct fenders on that bad boy?

No, I will not be changing the rear fenders out at any time in the near future. As a matter of fact, I think these fenders actually look good. I think they have a little cool flair to em.
