Muffler set up, x-pipe, Flowmaster Type, chrome tips?
Let hear what kind of exhaust set up you guys are running??? Engine size??? What brand of Headers??? What series Flowmasters is your engine singin thru??? Running an X-Pipe??? Dual??? Straight Back or Exiting in front of the rear tires??? Pics???
My 72' K-10 which I bought this way: Is a 383 w/ FlowTech ceramic headers in a dual set-up into Flowmasters (don't know which ones) exhaust exiting mid bed pointing down. My 71' C-10: 350, stock exaust. Just bought Summit brand Ceramic headers...Flowmasters w/ chrome tips exiting in front of the rear wheels coming soon! Thanks Guys!

Factory "ram horns", 2-1/4 pipe, no crossover (yet), Flowtech Afterburners, no tips, exiting at approximately 45 degrees in front of the rear wheels. The Afterburners sound great. You'd think this combo would drive you mad in the cab, but it's really pretty quiet. Outside the truck, it sounds like the Four Horsemen are upon you. Inside, however, you can carry on a conversation with only slightly raised voices while cruising 65 down the highway. I chose to have the exhaust dump before the rear wheels for two reasons. First, I like the look. Second, I get less crap thrown on them from the tires. Sure, I could have gone straight back to avoid that problem, but I just don't care for straight-back exhaust on a truck since it always seems to get in the way when you use the truck for real work.

autozone flowtech headers and 2 1/2 inch turndowns also from autozone the whole setup was less than 100 bux-joe

exhaust setup
i am running hedman headers alumunized pipe 2 1/2 with crossover and flowmaster 50 series DELTAFLOW (QUIET) series mufflers and stainless tips look at the pictures listed on my signature

I'm running Heddman headers, 2.5" pipes (no crossover yet) and 40 series Delta Flow flowmastes, dumped with turndowns above the rear axle. Sounds pretty good...fairly quiet until you get on it, and then it gets really loud!
I was running them w/o turndowns, but it attracted some unwanted attention, so i threw a pair back on it. It sounded alot meaner before...but i kinda like it quiter. I can hear the radio better now, lol.

was running Dynomax Headers, with 2 1/2 exhaust, msot of exhaust just scavaged here and there for with a pair of glass pack muffles, After my new engine gets in and I get everything situated I want to Quiet it down alot, thinking about X-Pipe & maybe some Borla's, not totaly sure yet..

Not sure what brand they are (never got that info from the PO), but:
350/TH350, ramshorn manifolds, dual exhaust with ? mufflers and exhaust exits at 45 deg angles to rear axle under back bumper. This setup sounds nice but I don't like how the rear exits are. I am probably going to end up putting an X-pipe in, and when I do I will probably cut where the mufflers sit now, move them to under the spare location and sideways with chrome tips directly behind them, probably turned down. I want my exhaust heard distinctively only when I rev it and not seen or heard much otherwise. My only concern is if I have a fuel cell back there, obviously don't want to be heating up the gas tank excessively. My current setup: |

Hedman headers (from what I don't know) someone smashed the $hit out of them to fit past the control arms and better yet, cut out part of the engine mount so they would fit. Arrgghh. Then to the pipe hanging on one trailing arm and one muffler almost touching the driveshaft. Oh yeah, and then the pipes were routed under the axles because there isn't any room with the ford 9". Well this is all laying on the floor now. Planning on going with shorty headers, x pipe, and exiting out the side.
Has any one ever heard a Dynomax Bullet muffler? Race muffler, pretty cheap, nice and compact. Edit I just saw the other post about the Bullet mufflers

Tom....that appears to be a fuel line and filter hanging down....better fix that before you drive the truck again! Not only could it get snagged and spray fuel everywhere, but it might be possible to have it be ignited by the hot exhaust. It looks way to close to the exhasut too.

I was going to say something about that when I posted but decided not to I was actually in the process of removing all the fuel lines when I took the picture. I'm glad you mentioned it though, I need you guys lookin out for me

I have 1 7/8 Nova Super Comp Headers with 3" dual exhaust and 40 Series 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers (delta's) with no crossover. I just installed them and did what I think is a pretty cool thing. I made some steel doughnut shapes that I welded to the crossmember that the trailing arms tie to and then went back and cut out the center. Then I used some heavy duty fuel injection line slit down the center to line the hole to dampen rattling and put the pipe right through the crossmember. Then the pipe goes up to the mufflers and turndowns right before the rear end. The mufflers are offset to the same side for inlet and outlet and they lay flat along the bed. It worked out pretty good from a ground clearance and appearance standpoint. I have only driven about 5 miles so far and have not had a problem with it trying to burn the hose that I put in. I'm kind of nervous about that, but will monitor it. Before when you looked at my truck from the side the exhaust was very obvious and now it just disappears.

What would give more performance. A 2.5" x pipe or a 2.5" H pipe?

i have hedman headers,2.5'' pipes, H-pipe and 40 series flos that end under the bed its kinda loud lol
