Cpp or porterbuilt???

Hey guys need some advice, i'm trying to decide if i need to get another driveshaft crossmember or not? My suspension setup is currently 3in drop in the front and 5" drop in the back, both with coils and a two piece driveshaft. i asked cpp about the differential angle changes with running said drop, and they recommended me to get their "drop trailing arm crossmember" which i dont mind upgrading to, ive also heard awesome things about the quality of the porterbuilt pieces as well, but idk if his crossmember is made for static drops? Or if he offers one for a two piece driveshaft? Any advice is helpful! Thanks

You can cutoff and flip your existing trailing arm mounts to improve the pinion angle. The CPP x- member is just that. The advantage of Porterbuilt x-member is that you can tailor the pinion angle as it has multiple mounting positions. Look at pics of the two and compare them.

Oh wow! is that something you have done? Lol.. i looked at the cpp xmember and i can see what you said about the tabs too. Also i went on the pb site, and i there were multiple versions, so i dont know which one it is lol....i did noticed that the bearing was moved from bolting on top to bolting on the bottom that would help the angle some too?

Ttt, are the porterbuilt pieces made specifically for bagged trucks? Or will they work with coil sprung trucks as well? I shot an email to the fellas over at pbfab couple days ago, waiting for a response from them lol

Porterbuilt makes products for coil spring, coilover, and air bagged truck suspensions.
Quality products.

They have several trailing arm crossmembers.
For 1-piece or 2-piece drivelines.

Never dealt with Porterbuilt, but if you go CPP get used to waiting and not getting any idea when your parts will be shipped, or built, or if the ore has been mined yet and sent to the smelter.

Lmao! Thats true, I at least have the "luxury" of going down to their store and try and pick my parts up, or i just buy stuff from other vendors, like summit racing haha no tax and free shipping

Awesome truck btw leddzepp! i read through your build and u said that u didnt have any pinion angle changes with your setup?? Are you still running the stock xmember or have you swapped it out? Lol

I used the PB trailing arm x-member on my static dropped truck with a 1 pc driveshaft - the quality is nice. But I do have a lot of CPP suspension parts on my truck too, also nice stuff, and never had any problems getting anything from them here in Arkansas. I don't know if the CPP x-member has this or not, but one thing I like about the PB one is that you can adjust it fore & aft since it has multiple bolt holes cut into it so you can get your rear wheels centered up in the wheel wells.

Thanks! Still have the stock x-member under there. I haven't had any vibration issues so I left it alone.

Cpp's doesn't and i dont like that they sell u the lil bracket to install the carrier bearing, seperatly...leddzepp i'm thinking if i should just leave it alone now too, although i could benefit from being able to route my exhaust through either one of them lol

to me the pb crossmember is a nicer product with a lot more mounting options for not much more money. i'll be replacing mine with pb

Yea im leaning towards it too, anybody have any pics of it installed? Perferrably with the two piece driveshaft and stuff? Haha
