Steering Column
i'm doing a S10 swap with my 49', i am not using the S10 steering column. i am going to order a aftermarket column but want to know what the best length is to use.
what lengths column have you guys used , installation wise |

I bought a 32" column from CPP on eBay. I think most guys are using 32s. As for the quality, it was what I expected. I'm sure an Ididit or Flaming River would have a much nicer finish but I happy with it for $189.
Note, thier shipping was a bit slow and when I got it and unwrapped it, it had a gouge in the chrome, like it got scraped at the factory. They did exchange it for me though. http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOT-ROD-STRE...db5aa5&vxp=mtr |

Well you lost me with the rat rod nonsense.
Guys have successfully used the chain steer setups when there was no other way to get the steering set up. That is usually on a little coupe or roadster that has a deep channel and the steering won't line up otherwise but no one puts one on or spends the money for one just because it looks rat roddy.

I think if you wanted the chain steer in a rat rode truck, you could find an old worn out Harley primary chain and a couple of engine sprockets at a swap meet and cobble your own together.
That would be more in the rat rod tradition.
