425 cadillac in a 79 k5 blazer

Is this an easy swap? What transmission is the best to use and is the 425 a good motor

It would be much easier to use a Chevrolet 454. The 454 has a LOT more horsepower and torque than the 425 Cadillac. It is a night and day difference between the two engines. The 454 would not require a transmission change, either.

yeah but cant i tune it up to more power than it has and it will be lighter than the 454?
also where can i find an adapter for that and a 700r4 or th400

If you're thinking, 425, you'd be crazy not to do a 500. Same everything space-wise. BOP pattern TH400 works, or, there are adapters for a Chev pattern 700R4 (but you'd better build it strong to take the torque).

wouldnt a 425 get a little better mileage or what does a 500 get compared to 454? Bout the same?
