Need an answer quick. Correct clutch fork geometry???

Ok so I need to know where the cast forks on our trucks should be pointing in the resting position? Should it be pointing towards the front of the block a little or parallel to the back of the block at rest? I have an aftermarket thinner flywheel and with the correct 1/8 to 1/4 throw out bearing to fingers distance my fork is parallel to the rear of the block. I have the stock throw out in now but I do have an adjustable mccloud. Also I am dead middle of my adjustments on my rod with a brand new clutch, should I be closer to the short side with a new clutch? I need to know before I put my 3ott with overdrive in tomorrow afternoon!

Lol geezer do you want pics from me? I went ahead and put the McLeod adjustable throw out on it this morning and made it point towards the front of the block slightly where it's 80% of the way short. At least I have a ton of adjustment now if I need it lol I can take pictures this afternoon if you want

well not that it matters anymore but heres a few pictures. I decided to use the adjustable Mcleod TB and I stabbed everything. With one spacer seems to be my best angle, Two makes it bottom out on the bearing retainer and touch the clutch forks. I have found my clutch moves about 1.5 to 2" before I feel any real resistance as if it is engaging the springs of the clutch. I welded up all the linkages and drilled them all back out and welded up any rods with wear and milled them back down. New bushings everywhere and aligned the linkages and all I can say is WOW it must have taken 3" inches of slack out of everything. The shifter throw is like I installed a short throw shifter on the column. let me know what yall think. i can take pics of the overdrive saginaw installed if anyone wants to see it.

At least someday when someone does a search, they'll see what it all looks like.

Hope you don't get interference on the counterweights during operation. I've heard that can be a problem.

I dont believe I will with the Mcleod. Its a good deal longer than the factory plus I have one extra spacer in it to compensate for my thinner flyweel. MAYBE I will get lucky lol

I guess this would be a good reference for building a stroker motor and having to change to a thinner flywheel with a high performance clutch and taller or adjustable throwout bearing while still using a 3 speed saginaw with the original cast fork and pivot ball. If anyone ever has any questions just ask.
