transmission help
Hey guys, so me and my son went for a drive a few mins ago and my gear selector stopped working. It's a th350 rebuilt about 20000 miles ago. No cable it still has the mechanical linkage. The selector and linkage move freely but where it enters the case it's not catching whatever it's supposed to. It's stuck in 2nd. Shifts fine from 1st to 2nd. Help! Is it accessible when the pan is dropped? I don't know anything about autos

Re: transmission help
Yes, it's accessible when you drop the pan, just a little messy and cramped. I won't even speculate as to what's wrong with it, as it needs to be opened up no matter what.

Re: transmission help
P.S. The TH350 does have a kick down cable and mechanicle linkage for the shift. I believe the TH400 may have a cable shift but never owned one to be sure.

Re: transmission help
there's a nut that holds the rooster comb to the shift shaft. Either 9/16 or 15mm. then there's a metal rod coming from comb to the spool valve and another going to the park pawl towards rear. I'm thinking the nut came off
