Idiot dash lights

I have a Question , on the dash idiot lights of a GM/CHEV Pick-up. When you start the truck up cold, do the BRAKE and TEMP light come on....?? or just the BRAKE LIGHT.

With the warning light style dash, both the TEMP & BRAKE lights should come on for a "bulb check" when cranking the engine. That feature is accomplished by a couple of circuits in the ignition switch that provide grounds for those bulbs when in the "start" position.

The factory gauge clusters use the same fuel gauge as the warning light clusters. As a result, the gauge clusters still have the provision for a TEMP light in the face of the fuel gauge but it wasn't made functional. So with the factory gauge cluster, only the BRAKE light should come on when cranking the engine.
