Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
Moving on to the next important job, the manifold. Removing the bunch of bananas and fitting the Holley 300-137 EFI manifold, its operating RPM starts at 2500, for the price nothing else has a lower power starting point.
And as this is a run what ya brung budget build, LOL. I will be adapting the Drive by wire throttle body from the motor, In Australia the Last 5.7 LS1 in our 2004 VZ Monaro got DBW throttle, with its own unique plug. (LS2 got same plug as all 2005 onwards) Here is the throttle body adapter construction pics... Took a whole day of messing about. Have to blend the round hole to the 4150 square hole, counter bore the bolts, o-ring the adaptor plate to throttle body surface. The fun never stops.

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
The factory throttle body flows around 750cfm and will suit my street truck needs, not going to bother with a cam change or any other mods except headers and a tune. The adapter plate is 16mm thick, the spacer plate in this picture is for hole placement only.

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
After some redkneck math, I chose a 36deg angle for the cutter, fixed the plate onto my rotary table and started making a mess.

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
Jumping forward a little, It was easier just to had blend the round to square hole, too many multiple angles for a manual mill. . Came out great.

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
Adapter bolted up perfect. O-ring groove is good enough, may look for a fibre 4150 insulator spacer block just to keep the heat away from the throttle body motor and internal electronics

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
Thats all for this posting , Motor is sitting in place, will be making mounts for that and the rear transmission. Looks like I will have to chop up some headers to get what I want.

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
Now that the motor and trans are in place for the first time, I can see that it would help to raise an inch and move rearward two inches, so going to make a pocket in the firewall for the right rear valve cover clearance, and chop a larger hole in the cab floor.

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
I'm sure glad someone is testing my theory with a factory throttle body on one of the EFI intakes. Are you planning on using a Mass Air sensor? Please let us know how this works out!

Re: My 54 3100 pickup build
Here is the chassis to engine mounts. Fabbed out of heavy wall 1.1/2" curved tube. With 5mm plate gusset. Still have one more brace to fit.
