2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
I have this posted in the 88-98 parts forum since it came from a 93 but maybe someone here is interested. Was planning to use this for my C10 but am going 6.0/4L80e instead:

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
Bigrig I am located 5 minutes from Exit 4 of NJTP and 10 minutes from the Betsy Ross Bridge.
I bought the trans from a guy who is into old trucks but is not a board member. I do not know the history other than what he told me which is that it came out of a 1993 3500. The brass synchros all look in good shape as well as the gears. I have not filled the trans. It was dry when I got it. You would be welcome to look inside before buying and judge for yourself. |

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
cool I know there are a bunch of varieties on these but would you know if the input shaft measures the same as the sm465? I know the 3/4 ton trucks do but some 1 tons had a bigger shaft.

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
cool and could you do one more thing. I see it has a electric speedo. could you pull the sensor and see if it is a driven gear or a reluctor wheel

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
Hopefully these pics will answer your questions.
It's a magnetic speedo pickup. You'll need an electric speedo or a converter box. Are you interested in the bell too or just the trans? |

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
I think I would need just the trans as I am putting it in a 2wd and would reuse my stock bellhousing like locdoc did.

I am going to call advanced adapters to see what they say about the speedo. I am still interested.

Two potential solutions to convert to your mechanical speedo:

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
ttt - still available. Will strap this securely to a pallet for freight shipping. Will also drop at a terminal to save a few bucks. R&L, Central, YRC and Conway all have terminals near me. Dry weight is 195 lb.

Another shipping possibility would be Fastenal if you and the buyer have stores near you. I shipped a long tail shaft NV4500, bell housing, and flywheel (300# total) from Maryland to central Iowa for $150. Just a thought..... LockDoc

Re: 2WD NV4500 + AA Bellhousing
Thanks Leon. There is a Fastenal near me. I've never done this but I assume it's pretty straightforward.
When I bought this trans I had it shipped from upstate NY, near the Canadian border, for $110. I used uShip, it came on a Central Transport truck. |
