Re: 2-16.5 x 8.25 Steelies

I can do either way, also. I'm about 20 miles from all that, too. Same for FedEx and UPS. We have a local UPS in town but he jacks the prices too much. Let me check quotes on wheel alone and w/tire mounted. Might be optimistic on the tire shipping cost. I just know once off the rim it will never get used. It's pretty cool. It's a Montgomery Wards 10.00-16.5 straight tread bias ply in excellent condition. The tire you buy today will have checks in it sooner than this tire. What did they ever do to rubber? I guess now that they date them it's ok if they rot away as long as it's after the "fresh" date.

Sounds good. Would be nice to if we could get the tire shipped too.
I'll keep hope alive.
Thank you Tim.

Re: 2-16.5 x 8.25 Steelies

Sorry. I checked right away with guessed dimensions and weight, but really need to weight. Ok, so why haven't I weighed yet? That's the forgot part . I'll get to it in the am. I usually weight myself, them me holding the object. But I can't read the scale while holding a mounted tire and wheel. Now I know what it's like for guys with "spare tires", beer guts, and such. I guess I should be able to set it on the bath scale and get an accuate reading. If not, I'll grab my very bust son and have him read it.

Re: 2-16.5 x 8.25 Steelies

Hey no worries. But now that I'm thinking about the spare I just realize that none of the vehicles I drive have a spare tire. Two trucks and a van. Nor do I have one either.
My wife's vehicle is the the only one with a spare.
I'm glad she doesn't have one.
She would ring my neck if she saw this post.

Hooo-wee! Greyhound wants $100. It weighs 85#. It's $64 for just the wheel.

I would like the tire too. Let me know what the total is and an address to send a postal money order.
Thanks for the leg work.

Ok, sending a PM. I took a picture yesterday, so you could see what you were considering buying...and why I think they are so cool together:

Re: 2-16.5 x 8.25 Steelies

The picture doesn't do the wheel and tire justice. It came in yesterday and I went to Topeka and picked it up this morning. This is a super nice wheel and tire!!!! Now I'm squared away with spares on my trucks.
Thanks a bunch Tim.

Re: 2-16.5 x 8.25 Steelies

You are very welcome, and thank you for buying it. I'm glad to know "that" wheel and tire are with "that" truck.

The two white 8.25 wheels for sale in this thread have been sold locally
