1972 C10 blower motor

We are reinstalling the blower motor in the truck and although the orange wire to the fan motor is live, the motor doesn't run. We are installing a new motor. Does it need to be grounded? Or are there any other solutions to this problem?
Thanks in advance,
Darcy

Yes it does need a ground. Typically there is a short ground wire that runs from the case of the blower motor to the closest stud that comes out of the firewall. The case gets its ground from the inside the cab heater case.

Hope this helps. You can run a temp ground from the battery to the blower motor case to confirm the problem.

Take care,
Tom
