Rockauto.com is less than half that price. I've bought a lot of stuff from them.

Re: time for shocks on my c-10
I ordered mine through Advance Auto Parts and they were less than $150. They also have 20% off this weekend.

Re: time for shocks on my c-10
thanks fellas, my 70 is 2wd and I think the cheaper moroes might be the ticket. I don't haul anthing but grocers in this truck so no need for them hi-dollar H/D shocks.

Re: time for shocks on my c-10
I got the Magnums for mine specifically for a stiffer ride, I wasn't suggesting you get a HD shock, I am suggesting you shop there because of their great prices.

Re: time for shocks on my c-10
On my son's truck that is lowered 4/6 (front is 1.5" spring and 2.5" spindle) we are running stock length front shocks on the rear and for the front we measured the factory mounting locations and the amount of travel and found a shock that fit. I think we ended up with rear shocks for a 1976 Corvette of all things. Going this route will not get you the correct valving for the intended use of the truck but for a kid on a budget it gets the job done. I found a pair of KYB GR2s for the rear on RockAuto on clearance for $36 shipped and the ones on the front from the local O'Reilly's for $44 out the door so $80 total for new shocks.
With the front being a combo of spring and spindle drop the shock is only 1.5" shorter than a stock one. If interested I will dig through the folder of receipts at home for a part number on the front shock. |

Re: time for shocks on my c-10
Bob i remember paying about $9 each for Monroes back in the day. The most recent purchase was Monroe sensatracs for my 06 gmc at about $40+ each. And these are on the lower end of the price range.
