Squarebody trans crossmember
I am using the Pacesetter TBSS long tube headers and they run straight in to the crossmember, was wondering if anyone has used CPP CP9424 on a squarebody or any reasonably price crossmember i will be running 3" exhaust and don't want it to hang below the frame rails.

Re: Squarebody trans crossmember
Do you have pictures of the headers installed? I assume they don't hang below the frame rail? What mounts are you using?

They hug the frame rail perfectly.

Re: Squarebody trans crossmember
Why not modify the cross member with a piece of heavy wall round tube that would allow the exhaust to pass through.

Re: Squarebody trans crossmember
I used one of these universal cross members from summit . It worked good on my 82 with the 4l60 . Gave me plenty room for the exhaust to go under . I welded one end and drilled and bolted the other to give me room to remove when necessary. Pretty inexpensive and I did not have to spend a week fabing one .
