timing question
I have a GM 290hp/350 with HEI. in the installation and break in procedures GM says to disconnect and run the engine without the vacuum advance. I've never heard of this.

Gm's paperwork indicates that "this engine is designed to run on mechanical advance. The initial 10 degrees will produce 32 degrees total advance at WOT

It's simply the bean counters in the warranty department.
They don't want you to put too much timing into the motor and hurt it and cause a warranty problem. |
