1986 C10 Paint Code 167U

My 1986 Chevy C10 has a paint code in the glove box of 167U and then says 67 Nevada Gold Metal. Is this the same code as 67 Saddle Metallic? I can not find any information on the Nevada Gold Metallic color. Anyone have any photos of this color on a new paint job with base coat clear coat? Trying to figure out if I want to go back original or not. The interior paint is still in good condition.

Thanks

Danny

Re: 1986 C10 Paint Code 167U

I did a google search as you might have too already. Shows 67 is Saddle. My 86 is 90U, but shows 90 as apaint code everywhere, including the paint supply shop. I do not understand the U behind the number. I found this on www.automotivetouchup.com No listing for Nevada Gold. Maybe yours was a custom order????

Re: 1986 C10 Paint Code 167U

"U" stands for "upper", or primary color.

"L" would be for "lower", or secondary color on a two tone (could be the rocker, or the inset, or top, depending on two tone paint scheme).

The "1" is a dummy character and can be disregarded.

So the actual paint RPO code is "67", or "67U".

From the generic info packet for 1986, located in the GM Heritage Center Archive:

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...olet-Truck.pdf

(page 140, among others)

Code 67 is, in fact, Nevada Gold Metallic.

In order to tell if "Saddle Metallic" is the same you would have to work it back to a WA number or supplier code.

In 1986 these colors would have been High Solid Enamel paint. Base coat/clear coat is a nice upgrade (that's what I did when I repainted my truck and I highly recommend it).
