Over 30K for a K10

I wonder if it's a true Super. Doesn't mention it and SPID not shown. 30K for a 350, some rust pitting and missing details. WOW!

I'd like to locate that seat cover. Somewhat like my original.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

I didn't know the VIN doesn't provide for trim level. Apparently the only documented proof of trim level is the SPID?

Re: Over 30K for a K10

SPID and build sheet (and clues). provide the trim level, that's all. Note the reserve is met at $30k - that means there's more than enough folks willing to pay this amount for it. It is a beautiful truck - I'd assume it's a Cheyenne with the Super emblems added. Everything else says "Cheyenne". If that's the case, wish it was left as Cheyenne - it's so nice it didn't need the extra bump in trim level. SWB K10s are primo trucks, just like swb supers.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

If it is the way you want one built it is hard to get a finished project like that from a rusted 40+ year old truck. I know it took 25k to get mine to the way it is from nos parts finding a perfect no dent bed floor $$$ go fast and I'm still not done. Would have been cheaper to go this route but not as much fun

X2, seems to actually be a Cheyenne but hard to say as what was just left off during the restoration, i.e. correct seat, tailgate handle etc. Also is it correct to have the trim on the cab below the rear window with it not being 2 tone?

Regardless, it is sharp.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

I agree with all the positive comments above. However, isn't a Cheyenne Super supposed to have an emblem and wood grain applique on the glove box door? If so, there may not be a SPID. A beautiful resto regardless.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

A super came with woodgrain instrument bezel, woodgrain glovebox trim with aluminum underlay (w/Cheyenne super emblem on the gb door), stainless tailgate handle cover, fender nameplates (which it has), and custom cloth seat cover in parchment, olive, or blue (unless buckets are ordered). Beyond that, it just included everything else the Cheyenne package had.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

It's a beautiful truck for sure, just a question. It had the doors replaced, did they make replacement doors just for 72? or did he maybe use original doors from an earlier year, no screw holes by the vent window..

Re: Over 30K for a K10

Certainly is a beautiful truck! I was also wondering about the missing vent window screw holes. I know they (china) do make repop doors for 72 with the screw holes. I put them on my 72 K10. I know I will never get any near this amount for mines when finished, but this gives me hope that maybe I'll at least break even

I've never seen a build sheet. My truck doesn't have one unfortunately.

If true then SWB C10 Supers are not the cream of the crop. SWB K10 Supers are.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

All depends what you want. To a 4x4 kinda guy, a K20 Cheyenne Super Custom Camper with cab lights, in dk olive top with med olive body, olive buckets, tach, PO3 caps, AM/FM, rear slider, extreme bend hooks, and wood bed - well, THAT might be the cream of the crop. Ok, my crop anyway... (EDIT: This is a dream truck, don't have one, just wishin) Ha. Yep, I've gone thru phases. Missed the chance of a lifetime on a solid ochre c10 swb super with a 402, but passed it along to another member who enjoyed it for a short while. Then I had a Highlander Custom Camper phase, that I'll never grow out of, and finally come to Ks. I like em all, what can I say...

Re: Over 30K for a K10

I paid 70K for mine and it wasn't even running. LOL

I paid more than most people ever could: I didn't try any alcohol, dope, or tobacco until I was 21. That was the deal. It worked: I have a beer every so often and that's it.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

I didn't realize how expensive K10s are. This truck is a nice restore no doubt, but I've recently seen some that were much better, for approx. the same price. One was a GMC SWB fleet, the other a C10 SWB fleet. May have been a Cheyenne.

The k trucks seem to be getting pretty tough to find in decent shape any more. Don't get me wrong they are still out there but not any where near to the extent that the c trucks are. A real shorty k/10 with a nice set of options is an extremely good find.

Re: Over 30K for a K10

I just bought a restored 71 Cheyenne short bed much like this one except a two wheel drive. Based on the receipts that came with my truck it would cost about twice the winning price to build the truck. I've completely gone through the mechanical side of the long bed Cheyenne Super big block 2 wheel drive in my signature and I'll never get all of my money back out of the truck. Its much cheaper to buy already restored, not as much fun.
