Few newb questions.
So I'm doing this from my phone so if this isn't the right place I'm sorry. Question is I have 61 c20. Has a 4 link rear end. It also a 8 lug. My goal is to do a rear end swap on it. 5 or 6 lug. Same with the front. Also want to get rid of the 4 speed. Every time I Google it brings up c10. Thanks for helping.
1. Can I swap a different rearend in with this 4 link setup. Recomend a good one to go with. 2. Years 79 and up will be a direct swap on the front end? |

Re: Few newb questions.
Welcome to the forum
You're not far from me. If your truck has a 4 link rear suspension, it is not stock, so it is difficult to say what is needed without seeing pictures of what you have. A '71-'87 C10 front suspension will give you disc brakes. If your engine is out, switching the entire suspension is a fairly simple job. You will just have several holes to drill. Switching the suspension on a '60-'62 frame is not quite as simple as on a '63-'70 frame, but it can be done. Forum member Markeb01 who is in Spokane Valley has a thread showing how he converted his '60 GMC.
