on a budget build
had bought this truck from member 5 years ago. it hauled 2- 24x40 buildings. everything but the concrete. truck ran like a timex. done building this past april so i decided to pull it in the garage to put some new drums on it and got a little carried away. pols free shipping front and rear springs. summit racing on alot of free shipping. had a bored out balanced 350 in stock. tranny built local with 2500 stall. one new rocker, the truck is very solid and from n.c. lots of cut off wheels, chassis saver, bolts ,nuts etc. stock front wheels with 235/70, 15 and vintage smothies on rear with 275/60,15. front is 3 inch drop springs and cpp free shipping 2 1/2 inch drop spindles. note you need longer front brake hoses. rear free shipping pan hard bar from pols ebay store. i hate ebay but a deal is a deal. rear springs same place 6 inch drop. front alighnment went well. exhaust is 2 1/2 inch hooker from summit, pure 100 % junk. |

Re: on a budget build
Good looking truck! Not a big fan of lowered trucks, but they look way cool! What does a 6"drop rear spring look like. Is it like a coil and a half or what??

I doesn't look like much. Certainly not enough to provide any ride quality. Better off with 4 inch springs and 2 inch blocks. Or, at 6 inches you might start to think about rear bags

Re: on a budget build
the truck did ride stiff with the drop springs but after 100 miles it drives better than stock. she loves the highway. and with a c notch i can still use it as a truck. just hauled a bunch of 8 inch concrete block
