repop seat covers

Who sells the best aftermarket seat covers? Do they all get them from the same source? Any you wouldn't recommend?

Thanks,
BobW

Re: repop seat covers

PUI or truck world are the two brands you will find. Most vendors carry PUI and I've used them several times with no complaints.

Re: repop seat covers

I think www.carsinc.com has really nice covers, as they use original material when they can. They also carry the correct style all vinyl covers (at least for a '70), as well as the correct CST deluxe vinyl/cloth covers. I guess it depends if you're after an all original look or not. The dark olive/cloth deluxe seat cover I ordered for my '70 is really nice. If you contact them, they will send you an image of the material used, as there aren't photos on their website for some reason.

Re: repop seat covers

My '70 C10 is just a work truck; so I ended up getting these from Rock Auto

ACME AUTO U107MVOV Madrid Vinyl W/ Oxen Vinyl Inserts

$165 total for the bench seat and back.. the quality was good I thought... I certainly couldn't even begin to make something like that myself for anywhere near that price.

I would have been nice to get the original olive green embossed exact reproduction of the originals but those were quite a bit more expensive and I'd rather spend that extra coin on a dependable drivetrain. Also I didn't want to be worried about using the truck for actual work..

Someday I'll convert it from work truck to my hobby truck and then I'll get the deluxe re-pop versions..

Re: repop seat covers

Gromit, here's the dark olive/green from CarsInc. First pic is a sample of the original standard vinyl material pattern. The 2nd is material from the seat I got. Just for future reference in case anyone was interested.

By the way, love your truck color combo--gold and dark green. I had a similar color combo on a 1969 Bel Air 2-door that I once owned. Cool car.

Re: repop seat covers

. . . .

I'm very happy with the one I bought from C.A.R.S inc for my 70 C-10.

It looks just like the original cloth and vinyl seat, right down to the scroll design.

Re: repop seat covers

I had C.A.R.S make me saddle '72 bucket covers before anyone reproduced them. They are top notch. I don't know who made the Cheyenne bench seat cover I got for the '71 Custom Camper I bought from Cheyenne Superman in '90, but the seat now resides in my '72 25 years later and lookin' fine

LMC has an economy reproduction cover that is pure junk. Never ever consider buying those. Pure junk. Made too small, inferior fabric, you name it
