65 short bed 3/4 ton?
I found a 65 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 327 and a 4 speed that is a short wide box. Did the factory ever make this combination? The owner swears up and down that it is all original. It's in a poorly lit building and I had no flashlight the other day when I found it. If the axles have been changed how ever did it used factory u-bolts and plates for the larger rear end. I could not see any place where the frame had been cut and shortened. I also could not open the door to see the VIN because of another car beside it. I would like a little input before I go to the trouble of unearthing it.
Thanks,,,Bill |

You'd be best off to check the vin before making a final decision.

Re: 65 short bed 3/4 ton?
To my knowledge GM did not make short wheelbase C/K20 trucks in the '60's, '70's or '80's. Does this truck just have a '20' emblem, or does is actually have 8 lug wheels? The 8 lug axles will bolt right up where the 6 lug axles were.

Re: 65 short bed 3/4 ton?
There were never any Short Bed 3/4 ton frames. They would have to be cut 3/4 ton or 1/2 ton frame. The frames are thicker and larger on 3/4 tons

Re: 65 short bed 3/4 ton?
It has no badging on it and yes it is actually eight lug. I am going to try to look at the VIN this weekend. Thanks for the input.
