JBA vs. Hedman

I'm looking to pull the trigger on a set of headers real soon for my 1971 C10 small block.

I'm really thinking about JBA 1830S-6TS. silver coated stainless shorty headers.

The second possibility is a Hedman 69013. silver coated regular steel mid-length

Hedman has both headers with ball and socket, while JBA only has one (factory replacement)

The biggest advantage I see with JBA is a thicker flange and they are stainless (more pricy too). I bought regular steel headers that were coated before and I wasn't impressed.

I have JBA on my GTO for about 6 years now and they look as good as day one, but I don't see much talk about JBA on this board?

Here is a link for comparison http://www.summitracing.com/compare#

Thoughts?

Re: JBA vs. Hedman

I run JBA 1815s on my 69 GMC K10 and love them. 1 vote for JBA here.

I think both header companies have a great product. We sell Hedman and our customers have liked the quality and fit. If you decide on Hedman, let us know.

Re: JBA vs. Hedman

I bought a set of hedmans for my 82, I have a real problem with them. no 5 plug wire is impossible to use, the pipe is so close to the plug it keeps burning the wire, I got the from Jegs so I called them to explain the problem, they said I needed these heat shields to keep from burning , but they didn't work, so now the hedmans are in storage and I have a pair of old no name Camaro headers on my truck, so I can't say hedmans fo anyone
