Running some ideas by you guys - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I've had my heart set on an 18/20 combo for my 84 for a while now. The wheels i was gonna run were to be black powdercoated Intros. I think i have changed my mind since seeing the bagged truck in my other thread. So here are the two options, tell me which you'd pick.

Option 1 - 18/20 combo, static 5/7 drop

Option 2 - 17's in same design, use money saved from tires/wheels to pay for airbags

I can save close to a grand going with the 17's, and i'll be able to rotate the tires. But, will the 17's be big enough to make my truck look good?

I like the big wheel look also,but I bought the 17's to save a little bit of $.I dont have bags but my truck but it is lowered and it looks good.

If I had it to do over again, I would have went with 18's...I'd go 18's and 5/7 drop.

Glad to hear you are going for black wheels. The chrome gets to be a bit much on everybody's vehicle. I run bronze rims on my dd, which sets it apart and doesn't attract too much attention.

Intro dubs have not...$1995 for the cheapest line they make, the Intro 2's. i have my heart set on Intros, and that's what i'm getting

Since your asking for opinions, here's mine. The 18/20 combo looks good on static drop. It doesn't work that well on a bagged truck though. When the truck is down the height stagger looks good. When it's raised up to drive, it doesn't look right. The front tire/wheel looks too small.

If I were you I would go with 20's and a static drop. You can always sell your static drop later. You will loose less on used suspension parts than you will on used tires and wheels. Besides, you will use parts of the static drop when you bag it. You will keep the C-section, and dropped spindles if you go that route.

Either way, I would skip the 18's. These days 17's and 20's are common tire sizes. 18's are becoming an odd ball size....

Maybe it's just me, but the Intro wheel you like looks a lot like an Eagle series 212 to me. I say save yourself some money and buy the Eagles in 20's....

I would go with the Eagle 212's in 18" with 255/45 18" tires.
