Collapsing column shift linkage problem

I collapsed the column in my truck for more cab room. Now my problem is installing the shift linkage. I also did an ls swap with the Doug Thorley headers. It's really tight Becsuse of the headers. I bought the lokar shift linkage hoping that would help but it really doesn't. Any of you guys ran a set up like this? Your help is appreciated. Thank you

Put a bend in the rod. I just did the same thing except I'm running TBSS manifolds. Collapsed the column about 3", ran Lokar to a 4L65, seems to shift great. I only put one bend in it down near the trans.

I think Lokar makes a kit that uses your stock shift set up but turns it into a cable. Something like that. Might be worth a look.

Do you have any pics of what you did?

I have the same thing you do but with different exhaust. I can see how yours are completely in the way. Not sure if a couple bends will help, you'd have to line it up. Here is the alternative I was talking about

That is something I might have to go with. I'm gonna try bending the rod first and go from there. Thank you!

You could fab up an extension to move the heim joint closer to the fire wall. an inch or so looks like it would clear for you. The two 90 degree bends like the RV column has in reverse would do it.

Could you tell me a bit more about this? I'm not sure what you mean.

Looks like where the heim joint is mounted to the column is too far forward. If you made a bracket that would move that location towards the firewall it would clear the header and work better. Here is a pic of the RV column and the bends it has. You would need the bends in reverse as they move the point towards the radiator support. I hope this makes sense.
