Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Thanks swamp! Yeah, hopefully I'll be real excited once the TCase shows up. The nice part will be that I should be able to lay out the exhaust with this one.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
The new to me T Case showed up today! Yeah!! Oh, and the guy I bought this from has a hydroboost brake booster he isn't going to use. So I got the HB, MC, and proportioning valve for $60. He is also going to cut the fuel door out of the parts Blazer he has for $20. Not a bad deal considering all I had to do was text him LOL.
Looks like I have some more cleaning to do |

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Thanks Rick! It's nice to feel like this thing is moving forward...even though deciding to put the 205 in at this stage is a bit of a step backwards. I think in the long run though, I'll be much happier. I think I can even modify the shift lever so that it won't be hitting the seat...now that's some exciting stuff there

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
make sure you post your T221 for sale here on the board. I sold mine to a guy doing a restoration. apparently they are pretty hard to find.

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
I got a little bit done this weekend. Got the TCase gutted and cleaned up! I decided to go with the red caliper paint. I am pleased with how it's turning out! I was a little disappointed that my seal kit didn't show up on Saturday like it was supposed to, but it's here now.

Looks really purty Mike! You'll be glad knowing you went through it before installing it into your truck. Good job and Merry Christmas!

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Yeah, I have a couple options...one is modify the cross member, or option 2 would be to find a fixed yoke setup. Modifying the cross member would be the cheapest option right now.
Here it is all bolted up. |

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Ruh-roh, I'd say relocate it by moving it back or up out of the way (cab clearance?). You could possibly remove rotate 180 and bolt it up to the bottom rail. I'm assuming you are going to run a one piece rear drive line and remove the carrier bearing stand off?

Re: 69 GMC "Ol' Blue"
Great work! The tcase looks great. Funny, I never have had a clean 205 to take out of a truck on a build! They always seem to be caked in grease, mud, and gunk.
