Re: got the 72 longhorn home
I think the Big Block leaf spring C20's and C30's with single rear wheel got the D60 with 3:54 standard but I'm not 100% on that.

Re: got the 72 longhorn home
Two cool trucks Richard! Thank you for sharing. Should make one really nice one or have a mess of good parts.

Re: got the 72 longhorn home
pulled the old points distributor out and slapped an hei I just acquired for $25 including the wires. Found the fuel pump was toast after I spent an hour getting the lines off of it to run in gas can. Went on parts shelf and found an old electric pump I had laying around and put that on it only to find the carb didnt like the pressure and pumped the gas out the top. said what the heck and hit the key and the ole girl fired right up. noisy with no exhaust but ran ok. Put her in gear both directions and it moves but couldn't move it far due to the redneck engineering going on. Touched the brakes and blew the front line lol. I am happy just to know it runs. I am going to grab a good fuel pump and pull a carb off my other engine and see if I can get it running better. I would like to make sure the transmission is good as well before it all gets pulled out.

Re: got the 72 longhorn home
thought they were trashed but two of them seem to be keepers. Someone cut a notch in the back of the 3rd one but it will be cool wall art I guess. Gonna start dismantling the orange and white one this weekend. Got a lot of good parts I can use on the Ochre one.
