Dangerous addictions

I gotta calm down. I think mine is the chase. Drove back to back to Texas and home this weekend and then Kansas and home.

It's not dangerous. Unless your wife is threatening your life.

haha...just sayin', after years of resisting I can't stop buying them again. I'm addicted. 2 more in one weekend traveling thru 5 states. And let me tell ya, Sunday was a nasty, rainy, windy mess up above Wichita.

I do have a plan tho. The first pic(Texas) is going to be my keeper now. 1950, totally rebuilt and detailed s-10 frame, all work nicely done on cab and all other panels extremely nice. Fresh built 350 roller n 700r with Mustang GT rear end (kinda unusual), new exhaust, all new plumbing on brakes. New in box Dolphin gauges, EZ wire harness etc.
Bunch of other extras. Quite the jump start on project. Previous owner, a really good guy, just got in a position where he couldn't finish and gave me a deal nobody in there right mind could refuse.

Kansas truck. 1951, pretty solid paint on a good body, but the paint has chipped in places from sitting unfinished and stuff stored around and on it.
Original motor spins free and strong and is supposed to be (and appears to be) rebuilt and can visually see that starter, exhaust and a couple other things are new. haven't actually fired it up yet. Bed is really nice and straight, rear fenders, brakes need attention. Cab forward overall nice inside and out. Pile of parts came with it.

So as much as I loved the orange truck, after buying it, didn't think I had it in me to start from scratch again so sold it and actually bought the Texas truck for LESS money!!!

Kansas truck I had already obligated myself to the owner for purchase and didn't want to go back on my word so here it sits. I'll get it driving and stopping as is and flip it also to someone wanting a head start on a stock original build , recouping original outlay on orange one.

End result, Texas truck nets out to me free or right at it.

Just feeling fortunate as a little due diligence and a lot of Luck got me in a really good position on a nice project that I can actually afford to finish nicely!

I have the coolest wife...she is loving it. I'm out of her hair lol.

The dangerous part was risking money I really didn't need tied up to make it happen and not telling her til it was back in the kitty

Maybe so...I got it in Newton. Seller was an old car buyer/flipper. He sat on it long enough that price dropped drastically.

Thought about you being close when I was up there but I was rolling...long weekend.

Re: Dangerous addictions

I tried to downsize my collection by selling my 55 Bel Air and then bought 3 trucks so now my wife says NO more downsizing as she is afraid of 3 more showing up.She did say if I build another building to keep more in I could buy more .

Yep, with 3 females in my house there's enough shoes to buy a truck haha.
