good tranny cooler?
what would you recommend for a good tranny cooler for my new tranny? gonna have a 2500 stall and it WILL be driven hard

I'm going to get the 24k GVW super cooler from B&M for mine. Part number for summit is BMM-70264. I have a 700r4 with stock stall but is used for towing and off-road.

It will come with everything you need to hook it up, but I think it looks sort of tacky. I like this better, but by far, it is expensive.

My cooler is the B&M Racing Super Cooler. It's a big sucker. Rated at 28,000 lbs., 11" x 8" x 1-1/2". It uses 1/2" npt fittings. Sometimes, I think it's too big. It sure does keep the tranny fluid cool. With this cooler, I could totally bypass the radiator probably.

Eric,
the regular B&M Super coolers, not the racing version I have, will come with all the hardware to hook it up and directions. But the mounting stuff they use is the plastic zip things you run through the radiator fins. I don't feel comfortable using something like that. But with the AC condensor in the way, you would have to do it different than I did. You could probably mount it from behind the core support instead of in front like mine. |

Mike's lines look great alright!
I have the same cooler and I used 1/2" stainless tubing and 3000lb fittings to hook it up. The fittings were free and the tubing cost around $30. I bent the tubing with tubing benders I already had. If you cruise eBay the fittings come cheap. I didn't use any rubber hose 'cause it fails within a few years usually and you don't want little rubber pieces inside your tranny. I've got the same cooler like Mike's off Ebay cheap and brand nwe in the box. I'm going to install it with some steel lines using the right connections to get the parts all lined up.

I have B&M's biggest cooler avalible on my truck. Without it, driving around in 100* heat without the TC locking up I would hit 180* within a few minutes. With it,it has never gone above 160* EVER. Right now with 70* temps it won't go over 90* unless I drive without locking up the TCC, if I do it wont even go above 100*. Love this thing.
