Can I add gauges to this cluster dash?

There is a large top middle spot "empty" (I would like to add a tach there-can I just add a used GM tach here?), and a bottom right next to steering column spot also empty. I have an aftermarket (AEM) wideband guage-can I put that in this spot if it's the right size? I didn't know how easy it is to add non-GM gauges to these clusters. Or do I have to replace the whole cluster? Thanks!

I have seen a Tach added to the large centre hole, there is actually a thread on this on the first page of this board right now. Not sure on the other smaller holes.

Re: Can I add gauges to this cluster dash?

It is hard to put in non factory gauges without making your dash look like a hack job. Stock gauges are nice looking though. Kinda pricey- You can look around on here and find factory tach dashes and some came with either vacuum or air pressure gauges in the lower spot. Usually came in larger industrial trucks but will work in ours. You can also find 80lb oil gauges as well. I have one I am building with factory tach and 80lb oil as well as vacuum. To buy it would be over 500 bucks. I built mine for only $550. Yeah I know- that's how it goes here. If you want a $50,000 truck you have to spend $100,000.

check out this Camaro tach mod that "Gringoloco" did...

plenty of Camaro parts in the bone yards or Craigslist....easy to do and cheap!

Re: Can I add gauges to this cluster dash?

This is how my dash will look when I get all the gauges in. As far the middle hole, I am still trying to figure out what to put in there. I would like to do a clock but for that size is about $130 to somewhat match the white face gauges. I will have a speedo, tach, water, oil, volt and gas gauges.

Cajun, what size and brand speedo is that you used? I have an eqqus tach in mine that I believe was 3 1/4". It did not fit perfectly but comes with a rubber gasket you can use to lock it in the hole like you install a windshiels with a rope and it works perfect. The eqqus 2" gauges fit perfectly in the small holes and come with a screw on ring that work just right on the back.

I believe the tach and speedo are 5". Now the factory holes are a little smaller, but I will either use some type of rubber gasket or weatherstripping material to keep them snug or just make a quick mount to the back. The Equus gauges fit perfectly as you said with the screw on ring on the back.
