The two notches in the grill were for the reinforcement rods for a Grille Guard. Nice truck but the exchange rate from Canadian to American is 48% for now so our dollar doesn't buy much. Bummer!

Dang... I think that'd be a better starting point than my '62 K10!

I noticed the notches in the grill and the holes along the top of the bumper too... If there's any chance you're tired of tripping over that grill guard, Murdoc, let me know. I need one.

My guess would be that it wasn't actually a NAPCO, but people who know just enough about vintage trucks to know about NAPCOs think early Chevy 4x4s were all NAPCOs, including the early '60s, and don't realize they were factory-built from '60-up.

starting in 1960 the 30 and up series trucks were still Napco
