I found a 86 Silverado k10,4 spd 4 wheel drive p/s pb tilt and ac in a barn a few months ago. Paid $800.00 I replaced the carb. and drove it home 86 miles. No problems at all. Had to replace front fender and front bumper. I have plans to do some updating as I can afford it.
I will be looking for a few parts in the next few months Wayne |

Hi Wayne, I would agree you got a great deal on your 86. I have a 82' and a 85' K10. With the 4 speed standard, you have a fairly "bullet proof" truck. I converted my 82' to a 4-speed standard after burning out my third 700 R4. Was alot of work, but well worth it. I use the truck daily around the farm pulling heavy trailers and for hunting/fishing. The thing I like best about these old trucks is they are simple. You can trouble shoot/fix them yourself at home, and parts are cheap.

Here are some photo's. Have put on new front bumper, painted rally wheels black. Found the trim rings and caps at the local swap meet for $30.00. I still need to polish the rings. Truck will be Black when done. Interior is Carmine red. Need to repair dash pad or replace. the body has very little rust for a Colorado truck. When I bought this truck it came with all the original paperwork and receipts since day 1. Need to decide if I put on a new rear bumper or go with a roll pan. Leaning more toward the bumper Wayne |

Yes, looks like you got a really good deal. I too would go with a rear bumper instead of a roll pan... Just a suggestion, but I would check your front wheel bearings. Had one pile up on mine shortly after I bought it. It's not the nicest job in the world, have to pull out the hubs etc. I like the fact you can repack the original bearings. 88 and up you need to buy a "cartridge bearing unit" for $375 per side...... (been there, done that)

Re: new member
Did the SM465 some with a NP208 in half ton? Or is it a 205? Nice score, you stole that.
