4l80 converter dust cover part number needed

Hello,

I am swapping in a 4l80 to replace the 400 turbo. I need a 4l80 dust cover for a 5.7 motor.

I have a 7.4 cover and it will work with big gaps. (gm# 15639045)
The 400 cover is (gm#1552212) it will not work at all.

I have be cruising the net and can not be sure which i need, At GMpartsgiant there are multiple ones that they say will fit but.

this link the picture is not correct but it could be a stock photo

http://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/gm...-15607700.html

Any help would be great,
Chris

i can crawl under my 1992 with the 350 and 4l80 and try to get the part number for you off the case

heres a pic of it. the truck as far as i could ever tell is all origional. it is for a 1992 but still a tbi 350 and 4l80 so should be right

Hello,
thanks for taking the time to get that # for me. Does your cover have the threaded bosses that the support rods that bolt to the engine mounts? GM parts giant is checking stock for the 15607700 now. I should know later today if they have one.

I might cut my oil pan section from the 400 and tig weld it in place on the 4l80.

Re: 4l80 converter dust cover part number needed

have you looked at junk yards? i forgot if you said that in your other thread? i know around here that 95 percent of the 90s chevy 3/4 and 1 tons have a small block with the 4l80 in it
im not sure what would be different between a tbi dust cover and a vortec 350 cover either. if its nothing then youd have a wide selection from 1991 to 1999.

I just received an email from GM parts that they do not have it. No one has any of these older covers it seems.. I am going to weld mine today. I will post a few pics when it is done.

If you find a small block cover and don't have a use for the big block cover, let me know. I've been looking for one.

If Jake has a small block,, you can have my BB. It is at the fabricators now and I can call to have it not cut apart.
