Did some Powder Coating tonight
Powdercoated my first part today, coated the top of the air cleaner for my wife's truck with super mirror black. Here's the top after I blasted it and baked it in the oven to kill any of the oils on it, the color is actually accurate it turned purple.

I preheated the top before coating it, here it is flowing out.

When the powder is curing it gives off a lot of smoke/gas, it's safe to say that you really should have good ventilation.

Here's the topside of the cover, it looks ok but it's pretty obvious that surface prep is as important in powder coating as in conventional painting. You can see the pitting around the edge of the cover.

Here's the bottom of the cover, it looks really good, there was little or no rust pitting on the metal and as a result it turned out really well.
